GlassNet is a flashcard app for the Mac menu bar. Most of what it does happens on your computer and stays there. This page is about the parts that don't.

What stays on your Mac

Your decks, your folders, your study progress (which cards you've missed, which have stepped aside), your theme, and any versions of shared decks you've saved. None of this is sent anywhere unless you choose to publish or share a deck. Deleting the app deletes it.

What we collect, and why

Only when you sign in — which you need to do to use Posts & Store or Study Groups — and only these things:

WhatWhyKept where
An identifier from Sign in with AppleSo your account is yours next time. We don't see your Apple password. If you hide your email, we never see it.Our database (Supabase)
A handle you chooseShown on decks you publish and to friends. It's the only public thing about you.Our database
Purchase recordsGlassKeys you buy and decks you unlock, so your unlocks are permanent and creators are paid. Apple handles payment; we never see a card number. Our database
Decks you publishTo sell them on the store. Publishing is a choice you make per deck. Our database and file storage
Decks you share to a Study GroupSo the people in your group can see them. Only members of that group can.Our database and file storage
Friends and groupsWho you've added, and which groups you're in.Our database
Payout details, if you cash outHandled by Stripe. We store a reference to your Stripe account, never your bank details.Stripe

Automated review of published decks

When you publish a deck to the store, its cards are sent to an automated reviewer (Anthropic's Claude) to check for copyright problems before it goes on sale. The reviewer sees the deck's title and cards — nothing about you. Its verdict is stored with the deck. Decks shared to a Study Group are not reviewed; they're private to the group.

What we don't do

Who else touches it

Three companies run parts of the service on our behalf: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (the server), and Stripe (creator payouts). Apple handles sign-in and payments. Anthropic receives published decks for review. Each sees only what it needs to do its job.

Children

GlassNet isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll remove it.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app will tell you the next time you open the store.
